Christina Fiechtl, age 91 of Bottineau, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at a Bottineau hospital. Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be on Sunday starting at 3:00 pm with a prayer service at 5:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.
Christina, 'Chris', 'Gran-Gran'(Friedrich) Fiechtl passed away on Monday October 6, 2025 at St. Andrew's Hospital surrounded by family. She was born November 18, 1933, to Rev. Walter and Alma (Thraum) Friedrich in Coon Rapids Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.
Chris was raised and educated in Iowa graduating from Fenton High School and Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux City Iowa. As a registered nurse she worked in hospitals in Fort Dodge IA, Fairbanks AK, St. Peter MN, Fergus Falls MN, Minot ND, Cheyenne WY, and Cody WY for over 30 years.
Her faith and family were the center of her life, she was active in her church as a Sunday school teacher, Quilting group and LWML where she served in many capacities including the Wyoming District President.
Chris loved to quilt, creating many cozy treasures for family and friends. She had many fond memories of being one of the "quilting ladies" making hundreds of quilts for those in need in a community and for Lutheran World Relief at the churches she attended.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Martin, William, Robert Friedrich and sister Caroline (Friedrich) Kressin.
She leaves to morn her passing her 4 children; Michael (Kim) Foster, Bottineau; Angela (Scott) Bartholomay, Bottineau; Wayne (Brenda) Foster, Minot; Amy (Roland) Busch, Mukilteo, WA and stepson Mark (Stacie) Fiechtl Coeur d' Alene ID. Brother Reverend Henry Friedrich, Algona IA., grandchildren Christopher (Andrea) Foster, Jessie(Jared)Boehnke, Meghan( Joe) Kjelshus, Nikita( Colin) Huson-Thompson, Matthew ( Whitney) Foster, Jon Busch, Danielle Foster, Seth(Carly) Bartholomay, Dustin Foster. 15 great grandchildren Bobbi Jo, Tatum, Christopher, Foster, Sloan, Baylee, Phoebe, Henrik, Bridger, Embry, Clark, Avery, Walker, Kaliah, Arden and many nieces and nephews.
