Obituary

Cheryl Adams, Age 67 of Belcourt died on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at a Belcourt hospital.  Cheryl was born on April 21 1953 to Carl St. Claire Sr. and June A (Decoteau) St. Claire.

She liked playing at the casino, playing cards games on her phone. She liked watching Monk, The Closer, Colombo and all Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies and she loved Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty.  She enjoyed being with friends and family. She liked to visit her family and friends when she could. Her daughter just started to help her when her health began to get bad.  They had a close bond with Helen and she was close to her grandchildren and her baby was Denver. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest happiness in her life. Cheryl moved  California when was young and moved back in 1990s to help her daughter with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and to be around them.  She spoiled all her kids. Cheryl was a strong person and when  she didn't like you she would she would tell you. A lot of people thought she was mean because the way she looked and acted but when you really got to know more she was the friendliest person in the greatest friend and person you could know.

She is survived by her only child Sharla June Gourneau of Belcourt; grandchildren, Tanikka Daye of Belcourt and Denver Desjarlais of Minot; great grandchildren, Helen Rose Daye, Hezron James Peltier and Donald John Daye Peltier; Siblings William and Janice St. Claire of New Town, Ervin and Veronica St. Claire of Dunseith,  Carl St. Claire jr. of Belcourt, Stella and Ron Strickland of Belcourt and Claudette Pochant. Her great grandbabies were her pride and joy, Erron Bear St. Claire, Crystal Pratt, Bonnie Bon Bon Lafountain and Felisha St. Claire; Godchildren were Anthony P. St. Claire and Stacie Rivard who she called her Valerie because she gave her the name when she was born also she took as her godclildren were Kolt St. Claire, Crystal Pratt, Clayton St. Claire Maccie Baker, Clayton St. Claire jr and Kolene Claire she called her nephew Greg Charbonneau sexual chocolate cause she couldn't remember his name and nephew Cody St. Claire made her smile and he always said aunty gave her hugs and she didn't have to remember his name because of her being called aunty.

She has joined in heaven with a son baby boy Gourneau; father, Carl St. Claire Sr.; brothers, David Willard and Clayton St. Claire and sister's Janice Peach,  Carmilta Renault and Carol Levin; Great grandchild Scottlyn Peltier; niece, Crystal Pratt; nephews Joey Pochant and Justice Davis and husbands, Charlie Gourneau Whiteweasel, Ralph Corday and John Adams Sr.
