Charlotte Suchan, age 98 of Bottineau, died Wednesday at a Bottineau hospital. Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 5th at 2:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.
Charlotte Barbara Suchan, an adopted daughter of Carl and Mathilda (Tillie) Bonde, was born on September 17, 1920 to Carl and Lillian Amanda Nelson in Kensington, MN. At a young age, she moved to Valley City, ND. She graduated from Valley City High School in 1939. She then attended the St. Andrew's School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. She worked in Port Angeles, WA for a time before moving back to Bottineau. On March 14, 1945, she married Edward Suchan at Minot. They made their home in Bottineau where Charlotte supervised the pediatric and surgical floors. Eddy passed away October 4, 2004.
Charlotte is survived by one daughter, Diane Gocio of Bottineau; sons, Robert and his wife, Pat Suchan of Fargo, and Alan and his wife, Arlinda Suchan of Bottineau; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents. She was preceded in death by sons, Wayne, Terry and Bradley; grandson, Tony; granddaughter, Jody; brothers, Luther and Leroy; sister, Luella and sister-in-law, Emma.
