Charles E. Watson, age 94 of Maxbass, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at a Bottineau nursing home. His memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:00 am at the English Lutheran Church in Maxbass.
Charles Edward Watson, a son of Charles and Hettie (Trimble) Watson was born on November 1, 1931. He was raised on the family farm near Maxbass and attended country school. He later graduated from Maxbass High School. In 1951, he married Phyllis Piquette. This union blessed them with five children which they raised on their family farm near Maxbass. This marriage later ended. In 1985, he married Della Streich. They remained on the family farm until moving to California in 1988, there, Charles managed a senior living community. Della passed away in 2009. Charles then returned to Maxbass and worked for Bill and Lenny Artz. On March 21, 2026, he moved into the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center.
Charles was a member of the Elks Club in Minot and the Maxbass Masons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and antique collecting.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Pamela Thomas and Lora Lee Hernandez both of California; son, Randy Watson of Stanley; daughter-in-law, Mary Watson of Bottineau; 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; sister, Connie Sawyers; brother, Ronnie Watson and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wives, Della, and Phyllis; son, Steve; infant son, Scott; sister Dorothy Hogan and brother, Ross Watson.
