Charles Pospisil, age 94 of Bottineau, died Monday at a Bottineau hospital.
Charles Andrew (Charlie) Pospisil was born October 17, 1924 to Henrietta (Libra) Pospisil and Frank Pospisil at Bottineau, ND. He was raised on the family farm west of Bottineau and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1942.
After high school Charlie worked with his father on the family farm and took over the farm when his parents moved to Oregon in the late 1940's. Charlie also spent a couple winters in the Salem, Oregon area.
April 4, 1955, Charlie married Virginia Schultz. They had three children, Charles F., William R., and Mary Ann. This marriage later ended.
Charlie later took over the Texaco station on highway 5 in Bottineau, which he operated for several years. He also worked as a mechanic at Theel's, Inc. in Bottineau. Then he worked for many years as a parts man at the Bottineau Massey Ferguson dealerships.
In the early 1980's, Charlie moved to LaMoure, ND were he was a parts man for Valley Equipment, Inc. In 1985, Charlie moved to Minot, ND and worked as a parts man for Harris Equipment until his retirement.
During his retirement years in Minot, Charlie worked as a driver for Souris Basin Transportation.
In his free time he liked going to Dakota Square Mall in Minot to walk and visit under the clock with his friends and area farmers he had met over the years while working as a parts man. He always enjoyed following the news and talking about the weather. In 2015, Charles moved out of his apartment of 31 years and into the Wellington Assisted Living facility in Minot. He lived there until moving back to Bottineau to the Good Samaritan Nursing Facility in September, 2018. Charles died July 15, 2019, at St. Andrew's Hospital in Bottineau.
He is survived by his children and niece Laurie (Jon) McHugh of San Diego, CA and nephews Thomas Henry (Roberta) of Westhope and Michael Hanna of San Diego, CA.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; sisters, Elizabeth Curry, Evelyn Henry, brother, Frank Pospisil, and infant sister Patricia; brother-in-law's Clifford Curry, Roland Henry, and sister-in-law, Nan Pospisil.
Charlie was cremated and a memorial service with be held at Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
