Charles Armer, age 82 of Westhope, died Sunday at a Bottineau nursing home. His funeral will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Westhope. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Westhope.
Charles, a son of Lorne and Mildred (Fulwiler) Armer, was born on January 23, 1936 in his family home in Westhope, He was reared there and graduated in 1954 from Westhope High School. Following the completion of his formal education, Charles worked on road construction at various sites throughout North Dakota.
The last few years before retiring, Charles worked for older folks in Westhope, mowing their yards, raking leaves and doing other miscellaneous work. This was in addition to taking care of both of his parents for years due to their failing health
Charles enjoyed puzzles, playing records on his old phonograph listening to his favorite singers Tex Ritter, Johnny Cash and Roy Acuff. He also liked to read and pass the time watching different television programs. In his younger years, Charles' favorite pastimes were fishing, and playing Bingo and Canasta.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Westhope.
Charles passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society facility in Bottineau.
He is survived by his brother Larry of Billings, MT.; many nephews and nieces; and great-nephews and great-nieces
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, James Armer; and sisters: Hazel Hagen, Mary Sisk, Carolyn Lesmann, Phyllis Hagen, and Imogene Lesmann.
The family requests that memorials be donated to your local ambulance department or charity of your choice.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
