Cathy Lee Riley, age 67 of Willow City, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at a Minot hospital.  Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Willow City.  Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Cathy Lee Riley, a daughter of Harrison Sylvester Brooks Jr and Fannie (McCann) Brooks was born on October 9, 1954 in Alexander, LA.  She graduated from Buckeye High School in 1973 and in June of 1973, she enlisted in the US Air Force.  In August of 1973, she married Karl Vandeventer.  This marriage later ended in 1981.  In 1984, she married John Riley.  She retired from the US Air Force in 1993 as a Master Sergeant.  In 1996, she and John moved to Willow Creek Township just west of Willow City.

In November of 1996, she became a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her Husband, John; Son, Troy Vandeventer; grandson, Andrew Vandeventer; sister, Brady( Gerald) Furlow); brother, Ricky (Rita) Brooks; Step-son, John "JP" (Lisa) Riley; granddaughter Callie; Grandson, Connel; step-daughter,  Bevin (Steven) Meyers; granddaughter, Jacey Huesken and grandson, Matthew Meyers.
