Carol Hunt, age 63 of Dunseith, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at a Bottineau hospital.  Her funeral will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Dunseith Elementary School Gym.  A rosary service will begin at 9:00 am at the school.

Carol (Nadeau) Hunt was born on January 4th, 1959, in Belcourt, ND, to Elmer and Rosie Nadeau. She was raised in Dunseith, ND. She attended Dunseith Indian Day School until grade 5th. She moved onto Dunseith Public School for 6th grade and graduated from Dunseith High School in May 1977.

Carol was united in marriage to Larry D Hunt, on April 21, 1979 at St Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt, ND. Together they had four children: Jackie, Donny, Larry Jr and Jennifer. Carol worked at Dunseith Public Elementary School at various jobs: library aide, front office secretary and payroll & finance officer, she worked there for 42 years.

Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved having monthly game day with her grandchildren. Carol absolutely loved to go camping, spending her summer weekends camping, and would take an annual camping trip to Lake of the Woods.

Carol, age 63, passed away on Monday, January 24th, 2022 at St Andrews Hospital in Bottineau, ND after a long illness.

Carol is survived by her husband Larry Sr of Dunseith, ND; her children: Jackie (Will) and Donny of Bottineau, ND; Larry Jr (Ashley) and Jennifer (Brian) of Dunseith, ND; Dianna (Kevin) of Rolla, ND and her fur-baby Maggie. Her 13 grandchildren: Jamason, Riley, Alex, Hailey, Rian, Lexi, Taylor, Julian, Brayden, Tanner, Kalen, Aniston, and Elle; one great grandson Jax. Her four brothers Elmer Nadeau Jr of Devils Lake, ND; Gene (Monica) Nadeau and Jimmy (Bonnie) Nadeau of Dunseith, ND; Richard (Penny) Nadeau of Belcourt, ND; and many nephews and nieces.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Rosie Nadeau; paternal grandparents Ambrose and Flora Nadeau; maternal grandparents John and Cecelia LaVallie; and her mother and father in-law Don and Blanche Hunt.

Carol's family would like to take this opportunity to express their gratitude for all the acts of kindness shown toward Carol and them over the years, and especially over the past several days.

Following the mass, a meal will be held at the Dunseith Public Elementary School in Dunseith.
