Bryon
Hallada
Aug 29, 1950 — Apr 20, 2024
Bryon Hallada, age 73 of Bottineau, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at a Fargo hospital. His funeral will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Lake Metigoshe Christian Center. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Fish Lake Cemetery near Lake Metigoshe. His funeral will be livestreamed on the Metigoshe Lutheran Facebook Page.
Bryon Edward Hallada was born in Mayville, ND on August 29th, 1950 to William (Bill) and Georgeene (Gummer) Hallada. Bryon was raised in Mayville, ND where he was a boy scout and excelled in football and wrestling. After graduating high school in 1969, he enlisted into the National Guard serving as a Military Police Officer. Bryon also attended Mayville State University.
In June of 1973, Bryon married Marie Diane (DeDee) Johnson. Together they had two daughters, Tina and Trisha. In 1973, Bryon began his career in the elevator business which moved them around to a variety of towns before he became manager of the Bottineau Farmers Elevator barley house in 1980. Bryon's marriage later ended, he continued his career at the elevator and moved up to Lake Metigoshe with his dear friend, David.
In October of 1985, Bryon married Rhonda Espe and was blessed, yet again……with another girl! They made their home at Lake Metigoshe where Bryon lived until his passing. His marriage later ended and the joke "2 ex- wives and 3 daughters" began. Bryon was surrounded by women to which he would roll his eyes about, but everyone knew he loved his daughters fiercely and always made sure they were taken care of. Even until the very end, dad made sure we were taken care of. His girls and later his grandchildren were his whole world. He was the best dad and an even better papa to Zoey, Gage, Jakob and Skylar. He was a papa to many, many of his grandchildren's friends and treated them as if they were his own.
Bryon volunteered as a Ski Patrol and ski instructor at Bottineau Winter Park, was known at the lake as the guy with the fastest boat, the best pig roasts to which people would come from all over, many snowmobile adventures, softball leagues, and in the farming community was known as "Happy Hallada" or the "Barley Guy".
Bryon managed the barley house until his retirement in 2015. His right hand men, Rob, Dennis and Paul were part of his family. Bryon would have done anything for them and vice versa. Oh the stories that could be told...but we won't. Their friendships lasted until the very end.
Bryon had many neighbors and peers that were considered close dear friends. When Bryon wasn't working on his deck or watching old war movies, he enjoyed coffee with the gang every Wednesday at the Christian Center.
Bryon is survived by his loving daughters: Tina Hallada (Brent Slotto) and Lindsay Hallada (Brady Soland); Grandchildren Zoey (Dominic) Hallada- Giacalone, Gage Hallada, Jakob Brudwick and Skylar Brudwick; sister, Cheryll (Tom) Moen and nephews Jeremiah (Lori) Moen and Shawn (Chelsey) Moen.
Bryon was preceded in death by his parents, William and Georgeene Hallada and his daughter Trisha Hallada.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
