Bridget Gonzalez, age 57 of Dunseith, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at her home in Dunseith. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 10:00 am at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Dunseith.
Bridget was born on August 23, 1967 to Richard and Jeanne Parisien in Tulle, France. She was the oldest of 3 siblings. She spent a few years of her early life living on military bases, before moving to Dunseith ND, where she attended school. Growing up she loved riding horses, jingle dress dancing at the pow wow, and hanging with the many cousins at Grandma Eliza's house.
At the age of 17, she welcomed a daughter Tessie, whom she adored and love to dress up and fix her hair. They moved to Grafton ND, where she did CNA work at the Grafton State School. Bridget later moved back to the Dunseith area where she met the love of her life James Lafountain. Together they raised their granddaughter Angelique, whom they loved so much and spoiled.
Bridget worked at the Dunseith Community Nursing Home in the dietary department for 18 years. She later started working at Dales Cafe for a number of years. Bridget loved to cook. She was most known for making the best fry bread. She made fry bread for everyone's events. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids, niece, and nephew. She enjoyed the company of many of her friends. She was so happy to get to see George Strait in concert, the best night of her life. She loved to listen to George.
Bridget had the kindest caring heart. She always opened her home to anyone needing a place to stay. She loved listening to music and dancing. She enjoyed going to the casino with family and friends and singing karaoke at Dales Lounge.
Bridget will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family of Bridget would like to thank everyone for the condolences, prayers, kind words and gestures, they are very much appreciated.
Bridget is survived by her daughter Tessie (Lloyd Counts III) Vallie; grandchildren Angelique (Justice Defender) Vallie, Emily Counts, Lloyd Counts IV; Sister, Liza Jo (William) Poitra; nephew, Kadence Gladue, and niece Tariza Gladue all of Dunseith.
Bridget was proceeded in death by her loving companion James Lafountain; parents Richard Parisien and Jeanne Henry; brothers Richard "Son" Parisien and Darren Parisien.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book
