Betty Torgerson, age 70 of Bottineau, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at a Fargo hospital.  A private service will take place.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Betty Torgerson, age 70 of Bottineau, was born on December 30, 1949 in  Bottineau to Lambert and Rhoda  (Clark) Wilhelm. She grew up on the family farm and attended Bottineau High School and the School Of Forestry. On April 15, 1972 she was married to Kenn Torgerson at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau. They made their home in Bottineau where she worked in the ASCS office for a time, and then from 1969 until 2014 she worked at the First National Bank of Bottineau.  Kenn passed away on December 23, 2017. Betty entered the Good Samaritan Society in Bottineau on May 17, 2017.

She was the church organist for 44 years at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Willow City. She enjoyed gardening, canning, participating in 4-H and was a member of the Red Hat Quilters in Willow City.

She is survived by two sisters, Lois Hahn  and Sharon Jansen of Bottineau; one brother Orville Wilhelm and his wife Audrey of Bottineau; brothers-in-law, Keith (Linda) Torgerson of Bottineau, James (Mary) Grosgebauer of Bottineau and Everett (Sheila) Grosgebauer of Fessenden and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Kenn and her parents,  she was preceded in death by one brothers-in-law, Kyle Torgerson, Gary Jansen and Dennis Hahn; and one sister-in-law, Karen Torgerson.
