Barbara Kromrey, age 81 of Henderson, NV, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Las Vegas, NV. Her funeral will be on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  Visitation will be on Thursday starting at 1:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Burial will be at the Omemme Cemetery.

Barbara "Barb" Joan Kromrey was born in Bottineau, ND on March 30, 1942 to Emil and Thelma (Arneson) Carlson.  She graduated from Bottineau High School in 1960 and married Robert "Bob" Kromrey, of Kramer, ND, on June 26, 1960.  Together they had 5 children, Shannon, Michelle, Daniel, Kelly, and Wendy. In the early years of their marriage, they resided in Kramer, but later moved their family to Bottineau.

Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed raising their 5 children and several cats and dogs throughout the years. When her children were in school, Barbara became an AVON Representative and kept busy with her business for several years. She was skilled at sewing and spent many hours making matching Christmas outfits for her children. In her spare time, she took pride in painting beautiful pictures. Barbara also enjoyed hosting family and friends and cooking holiday meals. Barbara loved being a grandma and spending her time with her grandchildren.

Barb and Bob spent their retirement years in Las Vegas, NV eventually settling in the suburb of Henderson, where she enjoyed hosting visitors, spent time swimming in the pool, playing bingo and feeding the birds.

Barbara Joan Kromrey passed away at a Hospice Care Home in Las Vegas, NV on March 26th, 2024 at the age of 81. Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Carlson, father, Emil Carlson, and brother, Gordon Carlson, mother and father-in-law, Daniel and Alvera Kromrey, brother-in-law, Edward Kromrey, 3 sisters-in-law, Margaret Kromrey, Rose Carlson, and Barbara Carlson, a nephew, Steven, and a great nephew Benjamin.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Kromrey, sister Janis Martin (Alvin) of Bend, OR, daughter Shannon Kittleson (Kent) of Rice Lake, WI, daughter Michelle Shingleton of Henderson, NV, son Daniel Kromrey (Barb) of Rice Lake, WI, daughter Kelly Mamie (Leonard) of Olathe, KS, daughter Wendy Haugrose (Scott Moen) of Bottineau, ND, 11 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
