Obituary

Audrin Larson, age 87 of Bottineau, died Tuesday at a Bottineau hospital.  His funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm all at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Audrin Nels Larson, age 87 of Bottineau, died Tuesday at a Bottineau hospital.  His funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm all at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.  Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Audrin was born March 7, 1931 to Albert and Alida Larson on the family farm in the Turtle Mountains of Bottineau County. He attended country school through eighth grade and began helping on the farm fulltime after that.

He enlisted into the US Army on September 1, 1950. He served in Korea for 8 months with the Service Co. 7 th Infantry, and was discharged on June 23, 1952.

Audrin was united in marriage to Marlyce Flaata on November 8, 1953 at Manger Church. They made their home in Bottineau and moved into their new home in the foot hills of the Turtle Mountains in 1963. Audrin was a lifelong mechanic and eventually owned his own service station, A and M Service, where many a car were repaired, along with many stories shared.

Audrin was a self-taught musician, playing the guitar, piano and singing. He and his siblings sang for countless weddings, funerals and gatherings. He continued sharing his gift of music throughout his entire life. Another passion of Audrin's was hunting. Every year around this time the anticipation built until opening day of deer hunting came. He and Marlyce spent countless hours in their yard and garden mowing, trimming, weeding and lovingly caring for their home, children and grandchildren.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Bottineau, and was a lifetime member of VFW post #8688.

He is survived by: Wife of 65 years, Marlyce; Daughters Pam (Keith Hart) and Penny (Larry Meyer). Grandchildren: Toby Johnson, Cassandra Sampson, Elizabeth Lund, Jodi Hart and Andrew Hart. Great Grandchildren: Madison Sampson, Luke Sampson, Cade Johnson, Mia Johnson, Colter Johnson and Nolan Lund; Brothers: Elmon (Karen) Larson, Timothy (Mariole) Larson and Matt (Peggy) Larson; Sisters: Sharon Wolf, Tesse (Arlan) Nelson, and Paulette Efimenko; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Audrin was preceeded in death by his parents, Albert and Alida; Brothers Harold, Lowell and David; Sisters: Yvonne Amundson, Carol Long and Mavis Sutter.

We miss you Dad, but we know you are now able to sing, dance, hunt and share endless stories with friends and family.
