Audrey Aitchison, age 87 of Bottineau, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at her home in Bottineau.

Audrey Aitchison, a daughter of Bert and Olga (Petterson) Hanson was born March 16, 1938 in Bottineau. She was married to Edward Aasness on January 12, 1957. She was the Central Telephone Operator from 1960 to 1964 when the telephone exchange was discontinued. Their marriage later ended. Edward passed away on July 17, 1982. She worked at the Turtle Mountain Lodge and Four Season's Resort. She spent her whole life for them, taking them to doctors and taking them uptown to shop. She was dearly appreciated by these people. She cared for many of them until they either passed way or had to go to a Home. On September 30, 1967 she married Leo Sterrett.   He passed away on December 8, 1973. She joined the Seventh-day Adventist church on August 22, 1981. She was baptized by immersion on April 17, 1982. She taught the Adult Sabbath School lesson once a month for 10 years, typed the bulletin for 27 years, church secretary for 27 years, was the church clerk for 19 years, Dorcas leader for 1 year, was the music coordinator for 11 years, Sabbath School Secretary for 14 years, Sabbath School Superintendent for 12 years, church organist for 10 years, and assistant treasurer for 2 years. It was a church she truly loved along with her God. She played piano, organ, guitar, and electric harp. She was a soloist who sang at funerals, church, Senior Citizen's and World Day of Prayer. On September 5, 2004 she was married to John Aitchison. This marriage later ended but they remained devoted to each other and had many happy years together. John passed away May 12, 2011.

She is survived by her loving family—3  daughters and their families, Vickie Dix from Grand Forks, Julie Tangen and Dave from North Liberty, Iowa and Amy and Kris Schalesky from South Fork, Pennsylvania,  10 grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Corey, Denna, Joshua, Hunter, Mackenzie, Megan, Mia, and Jennifer and 4 great grandchildren Jacob, Hailey, Kenlynn, Sulley, and Willow and 2 nieces, Debbie and Becky.

Her last and everlasting prayer is that they will all be in heaven with her someday.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Olga Hanson, sister Marilyn Hanson as a baby and step-father Emil Haseldahl and her sister, Jean Pladson and nephew Jim Pladson.
