Anne Michaux (Scully), DVM.  It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Anne, age 82, of Bottineau, on August 13th.

Anne was born in Bottineau on January 22, 1939 to parents William and Mary Scully.  Survived by daughters Kate (Jordan) LaSota and Kit (Chad) Schley, brothers John (Mary Jo) Scully, Frank (Noy) Scully, sister Elizabeth Scully, grandchildren Payton LaSota, and Allison, Alex, Adam, Emily, and Breckyn Schley, friend and neighbor, Gloria Halverson, and her beloved dog Missy and cats Monkey and Sidney.

Anne's lifelong love of animals took her to Manhattan Kansas , where her strength and determination led her to become one of the first women to graduate with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University in 1963.  Upon graduation, Anne moved back home to Bottineau, where she started her private veterinary practice, raised her two daughters, and bred and raised dogs and horses on her beloved farm.  In 1990, Anne began working with the United States Department of Agriculture as a Veterinarian at the US/Canada Port of Entry, where she cherished her interactions with the Canadian truck drivers entering the US . She enjoyed her profession so much that she worked full-time until her cancer diagnosis last fall at the age of 81.

Known for her stoic personality and perseverance, Anne survived several traumatic injuries, battled cancer with dignity and grace, and took her last breath with her daughters by her side. Lucky are we who have known and loved Anne.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 27 at 2:oopm at Nero Funeral Home (402 Sinclair St. Bottineau, ND 58318).
