Obituary

All an Peterson, age 89 of Bottineau, died Thursday at a Bottineau nursing home.  His Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the United Parish in Bottineau.  Visitation will be Monday from 1:00pm until 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm all at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Allan Peterson, a son of Sam and Nora (Anderson) Peterson, was born on June 3, 1929 at Fort Ransom, ND.  He was reared there and graduated from high school in 1947.  On October 9, 1947 he enlisted into the US Army.  He was stationed in Fort Knox, KY; Ft. Lees, VA, Adak, Aleutian Islands, Camp Chaffee, AR and Fort Sam Houston, TX.  He was honorably discharged on October 8, 1951.  In November of 1952, he married Elvina Buchholz at Fort Ransom.  They had 2 sons, Jerome and Paul.  This marriage later ended.  He was employed at Cass County Electric Coop in Kindred, ND before moving to Bottineau in 1964 and started working at North Central electric.  In June of 1981, he married Edna Amsbaugh at Bottineau.  Allan retired in 1990.  On April 2, 2008, he moved into the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center.
He was a member of the United Parish in Bottineau and also the American Legion.  Allan was also a founding member of the Bottineau Winter Park.
Allan passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at a Bottineau nursing home.
He is survived by his wife, Edna of Bottineau; children, Jerome (Diana) Peterson of Braddock, ND, Paul (Linda) Peterson of Queen Creek, AZ, Elaine (Paul) Erickson of Minot, Arlan (Linda) Amsbaugh of Brooklyn Park, MN, Evon (Dennis) Gravseth of Bottineau, and Eva (Rob) Kopp of Bismarck; grandchildren,  Heather (Paul) Jarski, Allan Peterson, Michael Peterson, Machele (Daryl) Somerville, Gregory (Heidi) Erickson, Shawn Amsbaugh, Kyle Amsbaugh, Kara (Jim) Cramer, Chad (Kim) Gravseth, Shantel (Mikel) Hess, Alex (Tayler) Kopp, Andrew Kopp and Marcus Kopp; great grandchildren, Adam Jarski, Logan Peterson, Hunter Peterson, Kate Somerville, Molly Somerville, Kalyssa Erickson, Kali Cramer, Shelby Cramer, Mason Cramer, Amber Keanner, Autumn Keanner, Tyler Gravseth, Trevor Gravseth, Nicklaus Hess, Ella Hess, and Easton Kopp; and great-great grandchild, Renlee Keanner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marlys.
