Alison V. Morin Maloney was the daughter of Richard and Madeline (Parisien) Morin. Alison was born on April 20, 1962, in Bottineau, ND. She was one of eight children. She attended Elementary School at The Dunseith Indian Day School and Graduated from the Dunseith Public High School in 1980 – where she was a very avid basketball player.
In younger years she enjoyed playing "Cowboys and Indians "and also "Army" with her brothers – which probably accounts for being so good at basketball.
She enlisted in the Air Force in June 1980 and was Honorably Discharged in 1986. During her Tour of Duty, she was stationed in Omaha, NB and Virgina.
Her son Joshua was born in 1982 and her daughter Alisha, was born in 1992. Alison lived in Dunseith for most of her life except while in the military. She worked at San Haven, The T&M Store and at Dales Café & Convenience Store.
She was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in 2021 and after completing Chemo/Radiation Treatments – she rang the bell at the Altru Cancer Center declaring her cancer free! She had read this motto and decided that she would live by this: "You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have."
She enjoyed many activities, especially playing cards and never a day went by without her calling or visiting her very good friends Maria and Lance. Alisha also got a daily call from her to check on her and her beloved grandchildren Aubrey and Malachi. Alison loved Josh and Alisha – but the love she had for her grandchildren, Aubrey and Malachi could have moved mountains – and she made sure we all knew that!
Alison is survived by her son Joshua Maloney and Alisha (Seth) Brien and grandchildren Aubrey and Malachi Brien – all of Dunseith. A brother, Bernard (Robin) Morin of Dunseith – Sisters, Sherri (Mike) Gladue of Dunseith and Gail (Ray) Trottier of Belcourt and many nieces and nephews.
Alison was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Madeline Morin; Sisters: Donna Kjorsvik and Connie Vivier and Brothers: Duane and Claude Morin.
