Alice Christenson, age 88 of Bottineau, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at a Bismarck hospital. Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 10:00 am at the St. Mark's Catholic Church in Bottineau. The celebrant at the mass Father Jared Kadlec. Casket bearers were Noah Arnold, Mark Gilmore, Paul Warmsbecker, Rick Gilmore, Talor Christenson and Tylor Christenson. Burial was at the St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery in Bottineau.
Alice Christenson, a daughter of Matthew and Katherine (Bachmeier) Warmsbecker, was born on January 21, 1935 at the family farm near Towner, ND. She was raised there and graduated from Towner High School. She then attended Minot State University and received her degree in nursing. Alice then moved to Long Beach, CA for a time. One June 24, 1961, she married Jerome Christenson in Towner. They made there home in Bottineau and Alice worked at San Haven where she was the Director of Nursing until she retired in 1987. Jerome passed away on July 14, 2012.
Alice was a faithful member of the St. Mark's Catholic Church in Bottineau. She prayed the rosary every day and enjoyed being very charitable. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed gardening and helping on the farm.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Leach of Bismarck; sons, Jeffrey and Gerald (Melanie) of Bottineau; four grandchildren; sisters, Rose St. Pierre of Minot, Gloria Bloomhagen of Grace City, ND and Linda Skirvin of Brodhead, WI; brother, Leonard Warmsbecker of Williston and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James, William and Philip Warmsbecker.
Arrangements were with Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Friends may sign the online register book at www.nerofuneralhome.net.
