Adele M. Douglas, 94, of Minot, ND, formerly of Bottineau, ND died on October 19th, 2020 in Minot, ND.
She was born on September 27, 1926, to Ed and Mabel (Patterson) Korman of Kramer, ND at St. Andrew's Hospital in Bottineau, ND. She attended school in Starbuck Township, moved to Kramer, ND in l942 and graduated from Kramer High School in 1944. She married Dayton Loren Brandt in 1944. To this union five children were born. They farmed near Kramer until they moved to Bottineau in 1957. Dayton passed away in 1960. In 1965 Adele married Dr. Roy Douglas and lived in Bottineau, ND until November 2010 when they moved to Minot, ND. Roy passed away in 2013.
Adele was a faithful servant to her church, Our Savior's Lutheran in Bottineau, teaching Sunday school, member of LWML ladies group and working with the Braille Center making Bibles for the blind.
Survivors: Her four daughters, Diane Kersten (Jay) of Minot, ND; Colleen Kornkven (Bob) of Bottineau, ND; Bonnie Lodoen (Steve) of San Jose, CA; Susan Geiger (Dick) of Grafton, ND; six grandchildren, Stephanie Heinert (Kelly), Kelly Newberger, Katie Kersten-Tyler (Kevin), Angela Kornkven Volk (Brian), Mark Kornkven (Angela), and Amy Geiger Vollrath; ten great grandchildren, Taylor Heinert, Jacob Heinert, Joseph Heinert, Dayton Tyler, Riley Tyler, Keegan Volk, Kyra Volk, Parker Kornkven, Devon Vollrath and Logan Vollrath; one brother, Keith Korman of Bismarck, ND, one sister-in-law, Betty Thiel (Melvin) of Rugby and one brother-in-law, Bill Metcalfe of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dayton L. Brandt, second husband, Roy Douglas, her son, Larry L. Brandt in 1950, two grandsons, Stephen Headsten and Jeffrey Lodoen, and her sisters-in-law Sharon Korman and Fay Metcalfe.
A private family funeral will be held on Monday, October 26th, 2020, at 11 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to LWML Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Bottineau, ND or to Bottineau Braille Center #133, c/o Susan Dahle, 508 Jay Street, Bottineau, ND 58318.
Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau, ND.
Adele's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and love to all the caregivers and hospice workers at Edgewood in Minot, ND. They became her extended family, especially during the pandemic when we could not visit her.
