Mabel Mosing, age 100 of Bottineau, died Monday at a Bottineau hospital. Funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm until at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.
Mabel Marie Mosing, a daughter of Anne and Eugene McGhan, was born on May 19, 1912 at Mountain Lake, MN. She moved with her family to Bottineau County at the age of four. She attended Peabody School and later graduated from Souris High School. In January of 1932, she married Eugene R. Mosing. They made their home in Souris where she worked the Northwestern Bell Phone Company. They also owned a restaurant called “Rusty’s Place” for a time. They moved into Bottineau in 1946 where she continued worked as an operator for Northwestern Bell Phone Company.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. She enjoyed playing solitaire and working on crossword puzzles. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for her family and spending time with her sisters. She loved going to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. She will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Cubs fan. She will also be remembered for having a school girl laugh all of her life.
She is survived by he daughter, Beverly (Donald) Thorson of Bottineau; daughter-in-law, Patricia Mosing of Minneapolis; grandsons, Mark Thorson (Shar Lund) , Ben Mosing, Steven Mosing (Lisa); granddaughters, Dawn Vall, Kristine Mosing (Matt Hunt), Sondra Mosing (Soner Coko); great-grandchildren, Dylan Vall, Chevy Vall, Tristin Vall, Joseph Hunt, Eleanore Hunt, Ava Mosing, Kellen Mosing; sister, Evelyn (Sally) Guttu of Tacoma, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; son, Terrence; parents; 6 brothers and 6 sisters.
