Janet Erdman


Janet Erdman, age 82 of Bottineau formerly of Willow City, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in a Minot hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at the First Lutheran Church in Willow City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Willow City in the spring. Visitation will be Monday beginning at 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Tuesday 10:00 A.M. until noon in the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Janet Erdman, a daughter of Arthur and Gina (Olson) Sanderson, was born on the family farm near Willow City. She was reared and attended school in Willow City. On May 29, 1950 she was married to Kenneth Stevenson at Miles City, MT. they continued to live in the Willow City area where she raised her children. In 1956 they moved to Washington State. They returned to North Dakota in 1964. their marriage later ended. In 1971 Janet married Leonard Erdman. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the St. Andrew’s Hospital for many years. Later working at the Good Samaritan Center for a time. Leonard passed away on January 1, 1999. Janet continued to live in Willow City until she moved to Bottineau in the Winter of 2012 where she has resided since.

She was a member of the Willow City first Lutheran Church in Willow City. Janet was very active with in the Church. She was also a member of the Bottineau Sons of Norway and the Bottineau County Museum.

She is survived by sons, Jerry (Laurie) Stevenson of Carpenter, WY, Joel (Marla) Stevenson of Bottineau and John (Delilah) of Corpus Christi, TX; daughters, Vicki (Alex) Engstrom and Tillisa (Mike) Lemay both of Westhope and Gena Erdman of Bottineau; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother Alton (Diane) Sanderson of Willow City.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard; daughter, Julie Langham; son Jim Stevenson; granddaughter, Melissa Sue; and a grandson, Terry Langham.
