Gladys Berge

GLADYS BERGE, age 87 of Bottineau, formerly of Souris, died Saturday in a Bottineau nursing home. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Turtle Mountain Cemetery near Carbury.

Gladys Eladore Berge, a daughter of Ernest and Ella (Billehus) Forsberg, was born on April 7, 1925 on the family farm near Carbury. She was reared on the farm and attended country school in the area. On June 26, 1949, she married Olaf Berge at the Turtle Mountain Lutheran Church near Carbury. They made their home on the Berge family farm. She moved into the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center on October 12, 2010. Olaf passed away on July 20, 2011.

Gladys was a member of the Turtle Mountain Lutheran Church where she was active in the WELCA and taught Sunday school for many years.

Gladys passed peacefully into eternity with her children by her side on Saturday, January 26, 2013 in a Bottineau nursing home.

She is survived by her daughter, DeeAnn and her husband Vern Notbohm of Minot; a son Paul Berge and his wife Linda of Souris; grandchildren, Nickolas Notbohm and his wife Amy of Minot and LyNelle and her husband Trent Sherven of Ryder; great-grandchildren, Emma Michelle and Lydia Eladore Notbohm and Isaac Lee, Ella Faith and Alivia Kate Sherven; step-grandchildren, Justin Karels of Hill City, MN; Melissa and her husband, Patrick Johnston of Grand Rapids, MN and Cody Karels of Grand Rapids, MN; step-great grandchildren, Kylie and Kinley Johnston and Blair Karels; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Eugene and Gordon Forsberg.
