Alice Huber

Alice Huber, age 94 of Velva, formerly of Maxbass, passed away on Tuesday at a Velva nursing home. Funeral Will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westhope. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Westhope. Burial will be at the Westhope Cemetery in Westhope.

Alice Huber, a daughter of Herbert and Anna (Schuett) Lesmann, was born on July 30, 1918 at Westhope. She was raised on the family farm near Westhope. She attended country school near Westhope. On November 3, 1937, she married Marion Huber at Westhope. Following their marriage, they farmed in Bentinck Township near Westhope and in 1949, they moved to Hastings Township. Marion passed away on March 14, 1989. Later that year, Alice moved into the Dakota Terrace Apartments in Minot. In 2007 she moved into The Wellington Assisted Living in Minot. In January of 2012, she moved into the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva.

She was a member of the Grace Methodist Church in Maxbass and later the Bread of Life Lutheran Church in Minot. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, sewing, cooking and baking.

She is survived by her children, Gerald (Mary) Huber of Janesville, WI, Myrna (Larry) Romine of Maxbass, Ronnie (Barb) Huber of Minot, Sandra (Maurice) Thorenson of Mandan and Gary (Debbie) Huber of Minot; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Bangs of Landa; brother, Lloyd Lesmann of Minot and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grand daughter, Renae Huber; daughter-in-law, Shirley Huber; brothers, Albert, Arthur, Lyle, Eugene and Herbert; sisters, Doretta Beingessner, Irene Austin and Anna Austin.
