Frances Wall, age 86 of Bottineau, died Friday at Phoenix, AZ, hospital. Funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.
Frances Wall, a daughter of John Frances and Rowena (Crooks) Whitlo, was born on April 21, 1926 on the family farm near Mohall. She graduated from Mohall High School in 1943. She moved to Los Angeles, CA for a year where she worked for Lockheed. She returned to Bottineau the following year and attended the ND School of Forestry. On July 24, 1947, she married Howard Wall at Bottineau. They made their home on the family farm near Carbury and moved to Bottineau in 1966. Frances began working at the ASCS office in Bottineau in 1957 and worked there for 25 years until retiring in 1982. Howard passed away on January 16, 2012.
Frances was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau where she was an active member of the WELCA. She was also a member of the Bottineau Women’s Club and served as an officer with NARFE. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Frances enjoyed quilting, knitting, golfing, baking and gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Mike) Krueger of Fargo, ND, and JoAnne (Bill) Fellows of Peoria, AZ; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Markkula of Wayzata, MN, Erin (Brian) Hunker of Edina, MN, Todd (Alissa) Krueger of Fargo, ND, Andy (Kelsey) Fellows of Fargo, ND, and Sara (Brandon) Cummer of Tempe, AZ; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Naomi DeLap (Keith) of Lake In The Hills, IL and M. Elaine Shields of Omaha, NE; brothers-in-law, John of Fargo and Kenneth of New Hope, MN, and sisters-in-law, Ione Skarphol of Bottineau, ND, and Doris Birkner of Stow, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Harold and Russell Wall and sister-in-law, Lorraine Bjorke.
