Robert Pugh

Robert "Bob" Edward Pugh, 60, of Bottineau, ND passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, January 11, 2013. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at the St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Bottineau. A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Born on May 4, 1952 to Mary (Busch) and Albert Pugh, he was one of nine children. Bob graduated in 1970 from Bottineau High School where one of his proudest accomplishments was becoming a state champion golfer. After high school, he attended umpire school in Florida, a passion he pursued for the rest of his life. His love of sports, especially baseball and the outdoors, was evident in talking with him. He was already looking forward to golfing in the Logrollers Tourney with his brother, his son-in-law, and his son-in-law's dad this upcoming summer.

Bob spent nearly 10 years working on the Alaska pipeline. He also worked for Wold Engineering of Bottineau for many years and helped a local farmer for several seasons. At the present time he was distributing papers for Minot Daily News. During the baseball and softball season, he umpired many local high school, American Legion and Dakota College games.

Bob could light up a room with his personality and made everybody smile with his stories and jokes. He was especially proud to be a grandfather to his two beautiful grandsons and shared their pictures every chance he got. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life.

Bob is survived by: his mother and father, Mary and Albert Pugh, of Bottineau; his daughter, Jessica (Nicholas) Baker, and two grandsons, Brady Nicholas and Bridger Robert, of Billings, MT; sisters, Carrol(Terry) Olson and Anne (Mike) Bergeron of Bottineau; Arlene (Ron) Duval of Moorhead, MN; and Mary (Doug) Manz of Brandon, Manitoba; brothers, Bill (Linda) of Miles City, MT; Greg of Minot, and Gary(Lori) of Wheatland, WY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by: his grandparents and infant sister
