Myrna Stockman, age 55 of Tioga formerly Dunseith, died Monday at a Minot hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the Peace Lutheran Church in Dunseith. Burial will be at the St. Sylvan’s Cemetery of rural Dunseith. Officiating at the service was the Reverend John Hesford. Special music was provided. Casket bearers were friends and relatives.
Myrna Stockman, a daughter of Harold and Christine (Peltier) Backman, was born on December 9, 1956 at Belcourt. She attended school in Flandreau, SD. Myrna completed her education in Minot. She worked as a carpenter’s helper for many years. In 1991 she met Randy Stockman. They moved to Tioga in 1992. On December 1, 2008 she was married to Randy Stockman at Williston. They have resided in Tioga since.
She enjoyed beadwork, gardening, fishing, hunting and having many different animals around.
Myrna passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 in a Minot hospital.
She is survived by her husband Randy of Tioga; sons, Michael Backman of Wisconsin and Francis Duchaine of New Town; daughter, Misty Richardson of Minot; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Byron Backman of Bismarck, Mylin Backman of Minot, and Clayton Backman of New Town; sisters, Myra Anderson of Orofino, ID, Brenda Backman and Velma Redding both of Minot.
